“A How to Guide for Male Feminists (with the caveat that I don’t know what I’m talking about)”

“I’m learning all the time from different feminists about what they believe a man’s role in feminism should be. I listen. I take notes. I act accordingly. There’s no perfect formulation, and if there were, I wouldn’t take credit for coming up with it. I’m sure there’s a woman who said it better, anyway.”

These are so good, so good, and a great framework for being an ally in general. Relevant to Pharell Williams recently saying he wasn’t a feminist because he didn’t know that it was possible to be one — and also all of the men I know who agree with a lot of feminist things but have never been told that they can be one too.
