genEOS is a recently launched blockchain-powered ecosystem for businesses. It allows building decentralized applications (Dapps) for different industries and purposes, which will be speedy, transparent, and highly secure.

genEOS can work wonders for different types of Dapps, three of which we’ll cover here in this post.

A Brief Introduction to genEOS

genEOS is a business-oriented ecosystem based on blockchain that uses the delegated Proof-of-Stake principle to deliver highly scalable Dapps.

Speaking of smart contracts, genEOS executes them as WebAssembly (WASM) ones. The platform provides a command-line interface for testing or simple scripting of contracts.

Currently, genEOS-powered Dapps are generated in C/C++ using clang/llvm, but other languages are to be added in the future.

To make it easier for developers to create, deploy and maintain Dapps, genEOS serves up its Integrated Development Environment (IDE) framework. In addition, the features of the genEOS toolkit include no-fee transactions, role-based permission schemes, and secure token distribution.

New Blockchain Horizons with genEOS

Dapps on top of genEOS are likely to appeal to enterprises interested in building blockchain-based applications for their internal needs. Also, with the help of genEOS, companies can develop Dapps and release them as products for public use.

Below, we describe the types of Dapps that can be aptly built on genEOS.

For Statistics and Market Research

The challenge. The poor transparency of statistical data and the lack of security for centrally managed databases may result in badly grounded research papers and the risks of getting intellectual property stolen.

The solution. The genEOS toolkit allows creating the market research services with all the records secured and traceable. This opens up an opportunity to raise research quality and protection to a new level.

In practice. Insights Network released its white paper in December 2017. The service enables a secure, mutually beneficial, and easy-to-do data exchange between individuals and companies. Secure surveys are inherent to its functionality, which businesses can use to their advantage.

For Healthcare

The challenge. In healthcare, network infrastructure and data management both require transparency and security. As many specialists across different hospitals contribute patients’ medical data, the process needs to be put into a strict order and allow no PHI breaches.

The solution. The blockchain-powered genEOS can help with creating secure decentralized software. With its role-based permission schemes, genEOS enables different levels of access rights for various types of users.

In practice. The latest healthcare ICO, started in August 2018, is MedChain. It intends to improve the quality of care by building a secure and transparent framework for electronic medical records based on blockchain.

For Recruiting

The challenge. Hiring processes may suffer from fraud and inaccurate information about both candidates and vacancies. Recruiters can advertise misleading working conditions, whereas applicants can put a spin on their education or experience.

The solution. genEOS can guarantee that only fair and transparent information is shared during hiring processes. In addition, it allows securing all the data stored in the blockchain and sharing it on demand in line with the implemented permissions.

In practice. Released in 2017, HireVibes aims to allocate budgets going to recruitment companies among successful applicants and to make the hiring process easy, secure and transparent. How does the solution work? To publish a vacancy to the app, a recruiter should transfer 7.5% of the potential applicant’s monthly salary to the service in the form of the app’s tokens. Two-thirds of this sum goes to the successful applicant and one third is the service fee. It means that each applicant gets 5% of their future salary once they are hired. In its turn, the underlying blockchain guarantees the security of the applicants’ personal data and hiring transparency.

A Light Step toward Dapps

Most industries suffer from at least one of the following challenges: poor data security, lack of traceability, and low transparency. This post highlighted the challenges of three business areas and showed how they can be solved through Dapps: statistics and market research, healthcare, and recruiting.

genEOS is on track for smoothing these angles and making blockchain adoption easy for businesses and developers alike, as it supplies a pre-designed decentralized technology.
