Greetings from the gBETA Team!

We are excited to share that Chelsea is back from maternity leave after spending the past three months with her beautiful baby girl Ellerie!

Now that she’s back, we’re excited to jump in and work on our Indiana expansion as announced earlier in the summer. Here are a few updates for the gBETA Indiana community:

First, we want to call out our amazing gBETA Indy alumni for all of their success so far! The gBETA Indy program has run three cohorts of five companies since launching in Spring 2018. The fifteen companies supported have raised $5,120,000 and created 84 jobs. Four of these companies have gone on to participate in a full-time, equity-based accelerator and 10 have raised at least $50K in financing. Special highlights include Pinpoint Pharma taking first place at the Innovation Showcase and Plan Forward tying for second!

This fall, we are looking forward to helping even more companies by running two gBETA programs which will both take place in Indianapolis. Alongside our traditional industry agnostic gBETA program, we will be partnering with AgriNovus Indiana to bring our first new program to the state. “gBETA AgBioScience” will be offered to Indiana founders innovating in the agriculture, food, tech and life sciences industries. Both gBETA Indy and gBETA AgBioScience will run this Fall with five teams in each, and culminate in a Pitch Night that will be aligned with the AgriNovus AgBioScience Innovation Summit held on November 20. Applications for both programs are due on September 20th and the programs will run from October 7th through their November 19 Pitch Night. Click here to apply for either program!

We are also thrilled to announce our first geographic expansion in Indiana. In the Spring of 2020, we will be running an industry agnostic gBETA program in Terre Haute. We can’t wait to expand the gBETA network into Terre Haute and start helping more companies across the state! Stay tuned for additional announcements about geographic expansions, industry focused programs, and more in the next few months.

In order to support our expansion, we are growing the Indiana-based gener8tor team. We are accepting applications on a rolling basis for gBETA Indiana Directors who are willing to work both in Indianapolis and across the state. We plan to make our first new hire in the next couple weeks, so if you’re interested, please review the job description and let us know!

As always, we’re looking to build our network of mentors, startup founders, and investors. This will be especially important as we support more programs throughout the year. Please feel free to send any intros to Chelsea — chelsea@gener8tor.com. If you’d like to catch up with her yourself, feel free to sign up for office hours here.

We’re so excited to have Chelsea back in action to help kickstart this exciting expansion work!
