INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Startup advocate and business executive, Doug Applegate, will lead gBETA Agbioscience, a free accelerator for early-stage agriculture, food, science and technology based companies, this fall. Run by nationally ranked startup accelerator gener8tor, gBETA Agbioscience helps startups produce innovative practices while promoting growth to the Indiana AgBioSciences sector.

gBETA Agbioscience works with five startup companies to ensure a custom, concierge approach. Participants receive intensive and individualized coaching and access to gener8tor’s national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors.

A native of Indiana, Applegate is a graduate of Indiana University where he received a bachelor’s in Communications Studies. He served various roles in the recruiting, SaaS, healthcare, and tech education industries. As a startup founder himself, Applegate’s area of expertise is in the development of early-stage and tech startups. Applegate will also lead gBETA’s new national 5G program in Spring 2022.

“I’m excited to work with so many amazing companies solving today’s problems from across Indiana,” says Applegate. “The agriculture and bioscience industries have a great opportunity to project growth across the Midwest. It’s awesome to see our partners in Indiana help us be the incubator and accelerator for the next generation of tools, technology, services, and solutions these pioneering communities need and desire.”

gBETA Agbioscience is currently accepting applications for their fall cohort. The program is held once per year with a high level of individualized attention for participating companies. Dynamic startups like past participants: FloWaste, Gen3Bio, and Market Wagon, bring an energy, excitement and dynamism to our industry that motivates us to work a little harder and be a little better at what we do,” says Jay Hulbert, President & CEO of Ag Alumni Seed.
