The gener8tor Luxembourg accelerator will invest in and scale five startups from the Luxembourg and regional startup ecosystem

gener8tor, a Top-15 United States-based accelerator and venture fund, announced today that it is choosing Luxembourg as its launch point into Europe. The Luxembourg accelerator will be gener8tor’s newest 12-week program to provide leading early-stage startups across various industries the support, coaching, capital and connections needed to build and scale their business.

The launch of gener8tor Luxembourg builds on the success of collaborative programming for startups that was developed with the Ministry of the Economy to support Luxembourgish startups seeking to expand into the United States market. This past summer, gener8tor ran a three-week program with five Luxembourgish startups who received coaching and support from gener8tor as well as from a network of mentors and investors.

The implementation of gener8tor’s new startup accelerator program is in line with the aim of the Ministry of the Economy’s initiatives to further empower the Luxembourg start-up ecosystem and to position the country as the ideal location for startups to settle and grow from the heart of Europe.

The initiatives gener8tor’s accelerator draw from include Luxinnovation, Luxembourg’s national innovation agency, and Startup Luxembourg, a public initiative that connects, supports and promotes the startup ecosystem in Luxembourg. gener8tor’s accelerator aims to be a key source of support for startups as they transition from early-stage startups to rapidly growing and successful companies.

A key component to gener8tor’s launch into Luxembourg has come through the collaborative connection between Wisconsin and Luxembourg facilitated by Honorary Consul of Wisconsin Mike Ansay. “We are proud to see one of the top accelerators in the United States join Luxembourg’s thriving innovation and entrepreneurship community,” said Ansay.

gener8tor will select five startups to go through the inaugural three-month accelerator, which will begin in spring 2022. The program will provide hands-on, dedicated support for each startup to help them grow, as well as provide direct connections to experienced mentors, technologists, corporate partners and investors. Each startup will also receive an investment as part of the program. Founders from across Luxembourg and the region that are looking for support in building out and scaling their startups are invited to apply to the program here.

“The gener8tor Luxembourg accelerator reflects the next step in our commitment to join with local partners in supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs and community leaders” said Joe Kirgues, Co-Founder at gener8tor. “This program is an important milestone in our deepening relationship with Luxembourg and the startup ecosystem within the country. We are excited to bring together founders, corporate partners, investors and the communities we serve to help accelerate startups on the forefront of innovation, technology and systemic change, diversity, equity, inclusion and sustainability.”

The program, based out of Luxembourg, will have a combination of in-person and virtual components. gener8tor will prioritize startups focused on driving systemic change at the corporate, government, and community level, as well as founders that embrace sustainability as a way to transform antiquated industries.

Since its inception in 2012, gener8tor has set up and run 47 annual accelerator programs in 28 cities across the United States. The 757 startups that have gone through gener8tor’s programs have raised more than $700 million in follow-on financing.
