Generation C is a collection of commentaries and narratives, written by students and young professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. We come together from a variety of educational and career backgrounds in order to foster a sense of shared community between individuals and cross-functional collaboration among different industries.

We have all been carefully following the news about coronavirus within our respective social networks, but information is frequently silo-ed between academic fields. Moreover, there are many active learners out there who have been diligently synthesizing information on their own, but have not yet put their thoughts into writing. Our goal is to encourage and challenge our peers to elaborate on their own analyses and viewpoints — so that the same types of writing that would otherwise be shared with friends on Facebook or Instagram can be aggregated for interdisciplinary learning and preserved as a memory capsule of our thoughts during this time.

We are looking to feature evidence-based overviews and opinion pieces on current events; experience-driven perspectives; and updates on how Generation C-led nonprofits and task forces are making a difference in the fight against coronavirus. Using our professional and personal expertise, we aim to uncover societal and personal areas of improvement and clearly share what we are doing to address these challenges.

Here is what we are looking to share:

In Brief. These articles are written by authors whose understanding of and opinions surrounding an issue are informed by their professional expertise. Topics may include health economics and policy, business and leadership, politics and law, education, tech and entrepreneurship, science and engineering.

Personal perspectives. These articles are written by authors whose self-reflections and self-improvements have led them to new insight. Topics may include identity and culture, family and parenting, love and relationships, jobs and school, health and wellness, food and cooking, arts and entertainment.

Service Spotlights. These articles are written by authors who want to share how they, their peers, and/or their colleagues have contributed their time and mobilized their networks to serve those most impacted by coronavirus.

We want to write with you. There are a few ways we can make this happen:

  • If you have content you’ve shared on another platform, a piece you’ve written for another purpose, an unpublished draft of your ideas, or an idea you think would be a good fit, fill out this 3-minute form and we will work with you to get your writing published here.
  • If you have a previously published Medium article, fill out this 1-minute form and we will add you as a writer. You can then add your article to the Generation C publication by selecting our publication from the dropdown menu for your piece.

We’re so excited to see what we can create together!
