After the 2016 presidential election, we have seen a surge in philanthropic interest and investment in the civic space, from a record number individuals donating to cause-based organizations to major foundations considering shifts in their funding priorities to address a multitude of fractures in our democracy such as fake news, voter apathy, and political polarization.

But why only now? Is this philanthropic momentum in the civic space sustainable?

In this podcast, I am joined by Kristen Cambell, Executive Director of PACE, Philanthropy for Active Civic Engagement, to explore whether civic engagement philanthropy is in the midst of a reactionary moment or if we are capable of turning recent momentum into a sustainable movement.
