In 2014, two high school students set out on a mission to change education and formed Generation Entrepreneur. Four years on, Generation Entrepreneur has continued that vision, working with thousands of passionate, excited high school students all across Sydney.

With every opportunity that we’ve had to work with these fantastic students, we remember that young people are the ones that will be leading the future. You, our young people, will fundamentally change every aspect of our society.

And the truth is, now is the best time to make your own dreams come true.

What we’ve seen in the last decade is an unprecedented democratisation of entrepreneurship. Technological development has meant that anyone, even a high school student, has the potential and opportunity to start their own game-changing business.

That is what we’re working on at Generation Entrepreneur.

That is why, today, we are excited to announce that Generation Entrepreneur will be running our first Incubator for High School business ideas, with the support of the NSW Department of Education.

The Program

Over the next month, we’ll be taking student submissions from Government High Schools across Sydney. You will have an opportunity to form teams of 4 or 5 around solutions to our society’s biggest problems.

Some of the fantastic people that will help you along your journey!

We’re partnering with the NSW Department of Education — paving the way for youth innovation on a state level

7 days worth of school excursions to build a business in high school?

Pretty cool right?

6 Workshops

1 Demo Day

If you’re succesful, you will be provided with $500 in initial capital, workshops at the new Sydney School of Entrepreneurship, resources, mentorship and networks beginning at the start of Term 2, 2018.

You’ll be immersed in the amazing ecosystem of innovation in Sydney, presenting your business ideas to top entrepreneurs, coaches and investors.

Be excited.

For our young innovators, this program is for you.

We’re backing determination. We’re backing grit. We’re backing the youthful naivety that has brought on decades of Australian innovation and change, betting that you will solve our biggest problems and lead us into the future.

We’re backing you.

Our vision at Generation Entrepreneur didn’t start in a big meeting room — it started in the playgrounds of a high school, it started in the living rooms of family homes, in noisy cafes all across Sydney.

So, to our next generation of entrepreneurs, why not have a go?

That’s what we did — we tried, failed, and tried again, to do something that we believed mattered, that we believed would help the next generation of high schoolers dream bigger.

When you look back on your high school years, what would you have wanted to do about the problems in the world that bothered you? Did you try to take the leap, and become the change that you would have wanted?

Here’s your chance.

*An earlier version of this blog said that we were the ‘first’ Australian High School Incubator — this title actually belongs to the fantastic work done by the Young Change Agents, which you can check out here!

To learn more about the program, please speak to your careers advisors at school — they will have more information for you! You have until May 25th to get your team & idea ready.
