KiddoHack 2019 • Code, Collab, Create

KiddoHack is a mini hackathon for kids grade 2 to 12 held by Generation Girl and KodeKiddo. For 4 hours, kids will do these series of activities:

• Build a team of two people
• Select a theme to work on
• Come up with a software idea for the theme
• Code the program on the selected platform
• Interact and learn from the mentors and other teams
• Test their Computational Thinking skills in a fun quiz
• Get an opportunity to present your program and win prizes!

This event is going to be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019, from 9:00 –13:00 at Ruang Komunal Indonesia by Facebook, Jl. Sudirman kav. 52–53, Jakarta.

For those who are not residing in Jakarta can also join the online coding competition instead. For more information, please refer to this event named KodeFiesta 2019.

We aim to encourage kids not just learning to code but also coding to learn.
We believe coding represents a new form of literacy — a tool for people to express themselves and can be use to deliver any kind of subject areas.

The big theme this year is “Telling Your Story with Code”

Our theme options comprises of:

• Global citizen: How can tech bring cultures together?
• Climate warrior: How can tech help reducing climate change?
• Healthy body healthy mind: How to lead a healthy lifestyle with technology’s help?

And Selection of Platforms for Each Age Group:

• Grade 2–4 : Scratch or Minecraft
• Grade 5–6 : Scratch or Minecraft
• Grade 7–9 : MIT App Inventor or HTML
• Grade 10–12 : MIT App Inventor or HTML or Android Studio

KiddoHack adalah sebuah kompetisi koding untuk anak-anak kelas 2 sampai 12 yang diadakan oleh Generation Girl dan KodeKiddo. Selama empat jam, peserta akan melakukan aktivitas sebagai berikut:

• Membuat tim dari dua orang

• Memilih tema yang akan di kerjakan

• Tentukan ide Software dari tema yang kamu pilih

• Koding program di platform yang telah di pilih

• Belajar dan berinteraksi dengan mentor-mentor dan tim lainnya

• Menguji Computational Thinking skills mereka dengan kuis yang seru

• Raih kesempatan untuk mempresentasikan hasil karya mereka dan memenangkan hadiah-hadiah menarik dari kami!

Acara ini akan diadakan pada hari Sabtu, 10 Agustus, 2019, dari jam 9:00 –13:00 di Ruang Komunal Indonesia by Facebook, Jl. Sudirman kav. 52–53, Jakarta.

Untuk peserta yang tidak berada di Jakarta, bisa mengikuti online competition yaitu KodeFiesta 2019.

Tujuan kami mengadakan acara ini adalah mendorong anak-anak untuk tidak hanya belajar koding tetapi juga melakukan koding untuk belajar.

Kami percaya bahwa koding merepresentasikan bentuk literasi baru — alat untuk orang lain untuk mengekspresikan dirinya, yang juga bisa digunakan untuk bidang lainnya selain IT.
