_The process of thinking

Here is another question. A question of converting dominance of operating means in thinking. In a certain thinking system, thought has two primary operating means; form and language. Thoughts are complex arrangement of these means, and during the arrangement, dominance of one element occurs according to the method of expression or one’s preference of means.

In the case form is a main operating means, concepts, which primarily exist as language, are transmitted to forms leaving minimum space for language, and thinking becomes operating these forms. So drawing is an appropriate method of expression in this operation.

In the other operation which has language as its primary means and form as secondary, though these two means cannot be considered as

Drawings, except specific types of drawings which are purely objected to give information, have its expressive characteristics prior to communicable quality. This characteristic allows it consist of several layers when drawing is manipulated. Because it has several layers as its inherent properties, it could be read in several ways. And because it is expressive means rather then communicable means, it allows interpretations.

Writings, or language, also have several layers, but generally the case differs from those of drawings. Suppose a sentence is condensed form of meanings which consist of several layers of meanings. And this is because language has its boundary as a communicable means. Writings, except certain expressive sort of writings such as poem, tend to be communicable means.

Sentence is compressed layers of meanings.

‘Drawing is thought,’ this sentence can be understood in different ways. We cannot call it interpretations, since it happens because of certain optima of language as a communicable means. The sentence, as a form contains thought, it is a state which layers are condensed.

If it is understood differently from what speaker or author intended to say, it is interpretation. So the closed meaning of interpretation is misunderstanding, but there is certain kind of speaking that expect or allow this called misunderstanding in closed meaning. Language has certain optima to remain as a communicable means.
