We have some amazing people working at The Generator and in this section we’ll chat to them and find out a little more about what they do.

Tell us a little about yourself?

I’m originally from Glasgow but now live in sunny Teignmouth by the sea with my husband, two children, two cats and a dog. I am currently the Managing Director of Aquamarine Media, which I set up two and a half years ago.

Tell us a bit about what do you do?

I set up Aquamarine 2 and a half years ago. I’ve been in digital advertising since the mid-90’s, I was employee number three for Yahoo! Europe and have worked in PPC (pay-per- click advertising) both agency and client side since the early 2000’s. PPC is my passion and I still dip in and manage accounts.

What events will you be attending this month?

Apart from regular client meetings, I’ll be meeting with Google in London at the end of the month for a catch up on our PPC accounts. As a Google Partner, we have an account management team which gives us a heads up on new Betas and additional help.

We’ve also been nominated for the South West Business Awards for Best SME, which we’re very excited about. Three members of the team will be going to Swindon for the awards ceremony on the 18 th January, fingers crossed we win!

How long have you been with us here at The Generator?

Aquamarine have been here since 10th February 2017, and we’ve enjoyed our time here a lot. In October we held a Harvest Festival event raising money and food for St Petroc’s and Exeter Foodbank.

Why did you join The Generator?

I wanted to be part of a community of small businesses, have access to great facilities, and to be close to Exeter city centre. The location right next to the Quay also makes it a lovely place to bring our clients and to see on the way to work in the mornings!

What would you say your favourite part of The Generator is?

My favourite part is the kitchen because it’s the lively, social hub of the office, and it’s a great space to hold events.

If you could be any celebrity for a day, who would you be and why?

I would like to be Steve Jobs because I admire his work ethic and the way that he built his business from scratch to be one of the most recognisable technology brands.

Christmas 2017 at Aquamarine

This year we had a Christmas party with a difference by going on an adventure to Marrakesh, Morocco for four days. We went on a hot air balloon ride over the Atlas Mountains, explored the souks and markets, ate traditional food in a Berber tent and went on a camel ride through the desert. It was a
great team bonding experience which will be remembered! Below is a photo of the team in the hot air balloon and in traditional dress before going on a camel ride.
