We have some amazing people working at The Generator and in this section we’ll chat to them and find out a little more about what they do.

Community Insider: Martin Brint

Tell us a little about yourself.

Middle aged slow runner, cyclist and digger of allotment. Husband to Petra (although we haven’t ever technically married ……) and embarrassing stepdad to Will (20) and Dom (16).

Tell us a bit about what you do.

I’m a Financial Adviser. I have been in the industry for 22 years now and set up my own company 18 months ago. We specialise in Mortgages, Protection, Pensions and Investments for the general public. We get referrals from bigger IFA firms who only deal with High Net Worth clients. I’m very lucky that I love my job.

What events will you be attending this month (business or social)?

I’ve just started doing the Wednesday CrossFit session. I want to make as many of those sessions as possible. I think that, after 10 weeks, I may be able to do the grown up exercises and not be in pain for the following 5 days. I also want to do the next cycle club thing…and to balance it up I need another Burrito soon. I have a couple of industry days going through Pension Legislation too.

How long have you been a member of The Generator community?

Since 1st April…….no joke.

Why did you join The Generator?

I had been working from home for several years and wanted to move out for the usual reasons. Productivity, Structure and to meet new people.

What is your favourite part of The Generator?

Going to work. Also the general atmosphere, the people and being on the quay. I should also add that the structure, place and people have really given me a boost and have helped me to kick the company on to the next level and plan for more expansion. Oh, and Petra reckons I’m less grumpy.

And just for fun..

If you could have any superhero power what would it be and why?

To be able to dig an allotment at the blink of an eye.

What 3 albums would be your desert island disks and why?

Can I just take my guitar and sing? No one else will be listening! If not, I’d go for Embrace “The Good Will Out” as my sing along album, The White Album by the Beatles and OK Computer by Radiohead. Two classic albums, right?

If you could be any celebrity for a day who would you be and why?

Mo Farrah — just to be able to be a quick runner for a day
