Community Insider: Murray Ross

Tell us a little about yourself.

West Country born and bred! Beautiful wife, two over excited dogs, one amazing baby daughter, two bikes and a surfboard. What else?

Tell us a bit about what you do.

I run a small Planning & Heritage Consultancy. We help domestic clients and small/medium sized developers obtain planning permission for anything from a house extension to 90+ new homes. We also have a team of historic building consultants to advise on alterations to listed buildings.

What events will you be attending this month (business or social)?

Curry Club (#obvs), Exeter Bicycle Breakfast Club also known as XBBC and professionally I will be attending a Planning Law seminar to keep up to speed on recent case law in the industry.

How long have you been a member of The Generator community?

Just over 2 years.

Why did you join The Generator?

To save myself from insanity! Working from home is great but only for so long. The Generator has been the perfect remedy providing a great community and often a welcome distraction.

What is your favourite part of The Generator?

Has to be the staff and the community. I feel I have made some friends for life here. Plus the view from my office window has to be the best in town!

And just for fun..

If you could have any superhero power what would it be and why?

Not sure this is a superhero power but I would love to be a dog for a day. They seem to have the best life!

What 3 albums would be your desert island disks and why?

Fleetwood Mac (Greatest Hits), Red Hot Chilli Peppers (Californication) and Otis Redding. Surely the perfect mix!

If you could be any celebrity for a day who would you be and why?

He is unfortunately no longer with us but I would have loved to have seen the world through the eyes of Nelson Mandela.
