Exeter has a huge variety of cafes and restaurants throughout the city and finding the perfect one for your hour or so lunch break is critical to keeping your day on a high.

If you are looking for sustenance in the centre of town, it could prove difficult to make a decision due to sheer amount of different food outlets dotted around. Here are some ideas to maybe help you decide:

Hubbox

If you’re looking for a hearty lunchtime meal, Hubbox is perfect for that. A huge choice of burgers, beef, chicken, veggie and fish, alongside SEVEN different types of fries! It’s only about a 3 minute walk away from the centre, and well worth it.

The Plant Cafe

Located on the Cathedral Green, this is a strictly vegan and vegetarian cafe which takes pride in their use of local and organic produce. Their selection of paninis, salads, cakes and coffee is more than enough to fill you up for the rest of the day.

Giraffe

Giraffe is a 1 minute walk away from our Townhouse, lucky for us. They serve food from all over the world, so if you’re looking for something new, this is where you will want to be. From nachos to noodles, the choice here is a big one, and simply looking at the menu is enough to make your mouth water.

Wakeup Wednesday: Giraffe have a great coffee deal every Wednesday morning until 10am you can grab any take away coffee for just 50p. This is the perfect time to test out their funky flavour and milk combinations. Skinny almond milk with gingerbread and nougat latte… sounds interesting but worth a try.

Mango’s

Mango’s cafe is found right beneath our Quayhouse office! This adorable little cafe sells great salads, paninis and even nachos, as well as smoothies and freshly pressed juice. This is a perfect lunch option if you are looking for fresh and healthy food.

Puerto Lounge

Found on the Quay, Puerto Lounge has a huge selection of brunches (among other things) which are a great lunch choice if you forgot breakfast! It has a very interesting and colourful setup with high ceilings and odd chairs, and great if you are working down at the Quay like we are.

The Generator

Of course if you have a packed lunch, both of The Generators offices have very comfortable and relaxed areas to eat and drink, where you will always find some great conversation. Packed lunches are a great way to stay healthy and save money, so maybe try to mix up your week, packed lunch some days and a little treat at Giraffe or Mango’s on other days.
