Genesis Vision Funds
What are Genesis Vision Funds?
Genesis Vision Funds are portfolios of multiple assets, gathered and chosen by the manager. In contrast to investment Programs, Funds don’t require active participation from a manager necessarily. The profit in GV Funds is achieved from the organic price growth of assets included in the fund, and not by trading activities of the manager.
To create a fund, you simply choose a number of assets and set their targets, which is an initial percentage allocation. The manager has complete control over the total weight of each asset in their portfolio. When you invest in a GV Fund, you purchase all the assets included in the fund in the defined proportions.
Once you decide to cash out, all of the purchased assets are sold according to the current market prices, resulting in either profit or loss based on the price difference.
How to create a Fund?
- Login to your account and head over to your Dashboard.
- Find the “Select product” button on the right.
- Choose “Fund”. The description can be seen there as well.
- Fill in the required fields: Fund name, description and logo.
- Add assets and set their allocations by percentage. Please note that there is a mandatory minimum of 1% GVT allocation per Fund.
- Set up your Entry and Exit fees for investors.
- Choose the currency and amount for the initial deposit. The minimal initial deposit is an equivalent of 50 GVT.
- Click “Create Fund”, and you’re all set!
These parameters can be changed if required.
To help you build your crypto portfolio, you can access a full description of the asset, social media links and its price history.
The manager can reallocate 3% of their fund per day (cumulative).
For example: you can change 30% of the fund’s allocation after 10 days.
Apart from that you can always change fees values as well as title, description and avatar.
Rebalancing of Funds
In the Fund page you can find targets and current percentages for fund structure.
What do they mean?
Because of the changes in the price of the underlying assets included in the Fund itself, the proportion of the allocated funds may change. The desired percentage selected by the manager is called Target, while Current shows the current allocation of the Fund.
An automatic Fund rebalance takes place every three days. If there was a reallocation, the rebalance will happen three days after it, not after the previous rebalance.
How do I invest in a Fund?
Investing in a GV Fund is very simple. Once you have chosen a Fund that suits your strategy, click the Invest button. You can invest in a GV Fund with any currency in your wallet.
When you invest in a GV Fund, your investment is accepted instantaneously. The same goes for withdrawals.
A few important notes to consider before investing in a Fund:
- Check the fees before investing.
- Check the History tab. You can check the event history of the Fund, which includes all previous rebalancing, investing, and withdrawals.
- Check the chart to see the performance of the Fund. You can choose different time frames to see the profitability of the Fund.
- You can withdraw at any time. The Exit fee will be applied when you withdraw.
We need to point out, that most of the ratios cannot give you sufficient information regarding the performance of the Fund for at least the first three months of its history. Consider looking at the Fund’s chart and its overall structure.
Every Thursday we announce a winner of our GV Funds Weekly Challenge. The Fund that demonstrates the best performance during the week is the winner.
We have also prepared a section with the most profitable Funds in the investing section to make it easier to choose a suitable Fund to invest in.
How is the profit of a Fund calculated?
When you invest in a Fund, you purchase all the underlying assets included within it. The profit is received from the organic price growth of the assets in the Fund. If the price of the assets increases, so does the price of your share (or unit) and vice versa. When an investor withdraws their investment, all their capital held within the Fund are sold, and the resulting balance is withdrawn to their Genesis Vision wallet.
Fees Explained
There are two fees the investor pays to the manager when investing in a Fund, which is thee Entry fee and Exit fee.
Entry fee is the commission the investor pays to the manager for investing in the Fund. Set by the manager and calculated as a percentage of the amount invested. Fee range is 0–10%.
Exit fee is the commission that the investor pays the manager for withdrawing funds from the Fund. Set by the manager and calculated as a percentage of the amount invested. Fee range is 0–10%. Note: if the manager closes the Fund, the investment stays there till the investor decides to withdraw it, no exit fee applies in this case.
Besides the managers entry and exit fee, there is a Genesis Vision commission of 0.5% charged from every investment in funds.
Closing a Fund
A manager can close their Fund at any time. In this case, their own funds are withdrawn, and the Fund becomes unavailable for new investments. Existing investors can keep their money in there as long as they want. Withdrawals from the closed Fund are not subjected to the Exit fees.
Please note:
- A manager can withdraw his own investment from a Fund, but he needs to leave at least 50 GVT or equivalent to keep the Fund running. In order to withdraw the whole amount the manager will have to close the Fund.
- In the History tab you can see all the events that happened to the Fund, such as investments, withdrawals, reallocations, rebalancing, Funds challenge winners.
Withdrawal from Funds are made as a percentage, as it is almost impossible to calculate the exact investors share upon the time of withdrawal. This is due to all the underlying commissions and conversions that take place upon submission of the trades to the selected withdrawal currency.
