Cryptocurrency technologies develop astoundingly fast. More and more people are getting involved in Bitcoin, Ethereum or a constantly growing number of ICO projects. High interest creates high demand, which makes this industry very lucrative as an investment instrument.
Despite the fact, that blockchain-related products are by far not the most user-friendly inventions, blockchain community is no longer a closed brotherhood of tech geeks. You don’t have to deeply understand mechanisms of distributed consensus or cryptographic algorithms to make money on cryptocurrency hype. You don’t have to actively trade or even use all these digital assets to make your investment successful. And the return rates and potential gains numbers look impressive (especially if you don’t consider the level of risk).
Traditional investments world watches on all this intently. Even the most conservative investors start realizing that choice here is either to remain skeptical about this “crypto bubble” or to make a fortune on that.
Investor Finance Forum in Sofia, Bulgaria was an amazing opportunity for these two worlds to meet. This event is held for the sixth consecutive year by the Business and Financial Information Portal Investor.BG and is a unique event not only for individual investors but for the entire investment community in the region that bring together professionals in the field of capital, currency and commodity markets. It is a big and very well organized event, backed by Postbank, Swissquote bank, Bloomberg, Philip Morris, MetaQuotes and a number of other noticeable companies, related to this sphere.
Initially, this event is oriented to traditional investments such as Capital Markets, Forex trading etc. However, this year a special cryptocurrency panel was organized. I had the honor to be a speaker and a member of the panel discussion about cryptocurrency investments.
The first presentation of the panel was about Bitcoin, obviously. Zach Harvey, CEO of Lamassu told about Bitcoin benefits, statistics and trends. It was a great basis and allowed me to go much deeper into the world of cryptocurrencies. In my presentation “Investment in the future. What will change traditional finance systems” I told about the current stage of technologies, aimed to enhance traditional financial systems. Majority of people heard about Bitcoin, but blockchain technologies are moving forward extremely fast. And this whirlpool of projects and altcoins look very hectic and scary for people facing this for the first time. I tried to make this journey more structured for them, and explain what value they should look for, investigating projects like Genesis Vision, which bring blockchain technology benefits to a “real world.” Investor Finance Forum is not a blockchain conference, so during the presentation, there were almost no technical details. The main goal was to show what makes all these blockchain systems interesting and beneficial from the functional and of course from the investment perspective.
According to the information from event organizers, cryptocurrency panel received very positive feedback. There were a lot of people skeptical about what we were talking about. But the good thing is that even they are not able to ignore the value of crypto at the current stage. Fund managers start adding blockchain projects to their portfolio; Forex brokerages crave to add cryptocurrency volumes to their trading platforms, the interest was definitely in place.
This interest is exactly the reason for Genesis Vision to take part in such events. Our project is not limited to crypto assets. As you know, integration with the traditional financial world is our first and desired goal. We believe that this event will help us to reach this goal since our participation there was very successful. We made a lot of contacts with brokerage companies, interested in integration with Genesis Vision at the early stages. Many of them realize that such cooperation is not only the way to attract additional trading volumes, but an opportunity to become the brokerage company of the future, integrated with the blockchain trust management infrastructure, and stand out in conservative investors community.
We got acquainted with trading companies, interested in becoming big managers on our platform, attracting additional trading volumes for them. One of these companies is Krechendo-Live. During the conference, we watched live trading session by talented traders from Krechendo and were impressed by their professionalism and efficient scalping strategies. After that, we discussed our possible cooperation and concluded, that it’s a great opportunity for Krechendo to scale up their strategies. At the same time, I’m sure many future Genesis Vision investors would like to see them as successful and reliable managers on our platform.
We discussed our platform with Metapenta, an authorized representative of MetaQuotes. It’s extremely valuable for us since the first step of our product development is an integration with MT4 and MT5 trading platforms. We have not identified any potential difficulties for such integration during the discussion. At the same time, we were pleased to know that they are really interested in blockchain solutions and clearly see the blockchain technology potential.
Overall, I really like the trend of including cryptocurrency topics as legitimate members of such traditional finance events. Blockchain technology keeps changing the world as we know it, especially the financial industry. Cryptocurrencies are lucrative instruments for investments due to the potential gains. But I believe that it’s not a simple investment into a digital asset, it is an investment into a technological future of the financial industry. And watching how actively people and big companies are jumping on this bandwagon, I feel that this future is not far off.
