Building technology is one thing, but managing it in an efficient, profound and skilful way is a whole different kettle of fish. Our team was crying out for a person, who could take the matter of maintaining a crypto broker into his own hands and excel at it.

Without further ado, we would like you all to welcome our new CEO of Genesis Markets — Konstantin Popov!

If that name sounds a tad familiar- it is for a good cause, some of you might remember Konstantin joining as an advisor a few months prior. At the time he worked as a Business Development Director in Just2Trade and has been managing all the operations in China.

Just in case you forgot — Just2Trade is a heavily regulated broker-dealer which will be one of the first brokers to be connected to Genesis Vision infrastructure.

However, we digress; as you can already probably tell, Konstantin has an enormous body of experience when it comes to brokerages and financial services.

But Konstantin does not only have vast expertise in the brokerage field but having spent in the territory of China for a whopping nine years; he also has a superb understanding and grasp on the Asian market as a whole.

From now on, Konstantin will be responsible for the development of the Genesis Markets project, including the development of Genesis projects within the Asian territory.

As for us — we are extremely excited, that a specialist of such calibre found interest in our projects and we are delighted to have him on board.

We also wanted to clarify a few things about the market that we, frankly, know very little about. That’s why we decided to interview Konstantin and ask him a few short questions right from the off!

-First off, we wanted to greet you on your new position and commend your interest in the cryptoverse. It is an honour to welcome you!

Konstantin: Thank you, it is a pleasure to be here.

-Let’s get straight to the stuff that everyone cares about. Are there many people with disposable income living in China? Are asset management services popular on the territory of the “Middle Kingdom”?

Konstantin: Yes, indeed. Due to economic growth, the number of people who are interested in investing and actually have enough risk capital to invest is going up. The asset management sector in China is one of the most active in the world and volume is increasing year on year. When we’re talking about Equities and FX markets, asset managers play a significant role here. Also, more and more new companies in the market are offering to follow trading, robot-advisors and other services which can either provide some help with investment decisions or build and manage your portfolio completely.

-Here is a question from idle curiosity — which industry in China is far more developed or profitable, compared to other countries?

Konstantin: The first thing that comes to mind is e-commerce, which fuels the development of other industries like logistics/delivery services and mobile payments. From what I see here, China is much ahead compared to other countries. Profitably depends highly on how the operations of each particular market player are organized, but if we check official data we can see that 42% of global e-commerce is happening in China, the volume of mobile payments is 10–11 times higher than in the USA — this can give you an idea about the size of the market.

-You are a veteran of the Forex industry and have worked in Forex brokers in the territory of many countries. In your opinion, where is the sector most developed?

Konstantin: The industry is getting more and more globalised. Even though all markets have something special, most forex brokers have global operations now, and they learn and adjust their business according to what the successful competitors do in different countries. As a result, now the vast majority of forex brokers have very similar services and no significant advantage against each other.

-Does China have prerequisites for such popularity of Forex products? Which products are especially saleable?

Konstantin: I would say asset management and education.

-Is trading popular with the general public? Are investment services popular?

Konstantin: Investment services are definitely popular, but most people don’t want to trade themselves, they usually prefer to rely on someone with good experience and track record to manage their funds. The demand for such services creates supply — more people decide to be professional traders, more companies provide tools, technology and related services.

-Is it possible to see a broker advertisement on a taxi or a street billboard?

Konstantin: Brokers are trying to reach more audiences and getting active with offline advertising, for example, I used to see advertising in Hong Kong airport express trains very often.

-In your opinion, what is the crucial difference in trading of conventional, traditional or crypto assets? Can a Forex trader become a crypto trader, or is there no interest in the transition?

Konstantin: First of all, we should take into consideration the fact that crypto trading is a new industry, most countries and regulators are still developing guidelines and adjusting the rules. I expect that the crypto trading industry will keep evolving and will be getting closer to the stock market than to forex. I’m sure that a forex/stock trader can become a crypto trader especially if he has an opportunity to use the platform he knows, like MT5 offered by Genesis Markets for instance. Some of my old clients already started trading cryptocurrencies this year, and it is highly likely that more and more traders from traditional markets will be trying crypto.
