How I made over $2000 on Fiverr creating explainer videos in 2 months

The first thing I would recommend before continuing to read this article is “you should have the courage to compete with other Fiverr giants”

These are people who top Fiverr search results when your type “whiteboard and explainer videos”

Because if you cannot do this one thing, then your gig will be lost in the sea of other poor converting gigs. I mean those in pages 10 and counting.

I thought it was a joke to make money on Fiverr, given that many online businesses are full of scams, everyone trying to make bucks off someone else’s lack of knowledge. With this, I do not want to talk about the never-ending pyramid schemes on the internet.

How it happened.

A friend recommended trying a side hustle and seeing if I would stop spending my salary on weekend parties, which now were becoming expensive. I also had my rent to pay and other men stuff that would mouth-wide consume every penny I got from the salary.

I know you can relate

I went ahead and created a Fiverr account, but I had no idea what to do with it. Then this happened. An old high school crush visited over the weekend and she was making over 200 dollars creating explainer videos (which she liked) and whiteboard animations (which she did not like).

I was burning with questions on how she managed her job and the side hustle. I waited for the weekend to pass and on Monday, we had a long-4-hours talk. She amazed me on how she explained everything. How she had found an online course on explainer videos, and how it was easy to create a gig on Fiverr and start making money.

I could not wait to join the fun! My pockets were leaking from expenses. And I needed this side hustle. After 3 hours of brainstorming the type of videos, I would create, I settled with “explainer videos for:

  1. Facebook, Instagram, and twitter marketers
  2. Guys who wanted to promote their small businesses
  3. And bloggers

I knew this was a great choice since I already knew a few bloggers and people with small businesses. I quickly learned how to create the explainer, and in a week, I was ready for business.

I create my three gigs, which I differentiated a little to avoid being spotted by Fiverr and have them all removed. I crush had given me all the details about Fiverr terms and gig policies.

How could I mess around with them?

Well, a week and 4 days passed and I had received a single inbox or a client! Things were starting to feel rough and I somehow felt like this was not to be…

PS: it might take even a month before you receive your first order, but there is a solution to that. It only takes more than two weeks if you are not serious about promoting your gig on social media. If possible, invest some cash on Facebook ads and boost visits.

This is what I did! I knew when clients started coming; all the investment would come back even 5 times more. I did not feel like I was losing. On the fifth day of the second week, I asked my crush to buy at least two times my gig.

This is a secret that I want you to use immediately you start selling on fiver

I also reached out to the bloggers and small business friends I knew, and they agreed to buy my gig. I was not starting to realize more gig impressions and clicks from foreign buyers.

On Monday of the third week, I was surprised to find five emails from Fiverr. Two clients had already placed orders, and the other three were waiting in the inbox. My heart was pumping with excitement.

My career (side hustle) as a Fiverr seller had taken its course and there was no one to stop me. Not even the verification process that I handled with the help of my friend.

My story is super long and it would take five pages to explain, but I believe you now have a taste of what it takes to start selling on Fiverr.

Important notes for those who brushed over the text:

Find someone who is already selling on Fiverr

Find friends to buy your gig at least two times

Take a great explainer video course (don’t mess around trying to learn on your own)

Remember time is extremely of great importance hence get started immediately

Lastly, always learn more and more always

Boost traffic to your gig with a Facebook ad
