Bones to Apatite

A poem

Bones to Apatite. A poem by Aimée Gramblin about the reincarnations of life.

Did you know our bones
transmute to apatite —
mineral and dust after
we die? Cream-colored
bones lose their crunch
brittle and crumbling
laid in dirt — the living

grind a memory
breezing through soft
air and stolen by bandits
dancing pirates…
