I close my eyes
lying in wait
the clock ticks on
Some moments
I fear I might disappear
in others
my presence
is illuminated by the screen
I stir myself
the thud of my heartbeat
against my hand
I meander virtually to my favorite hashtag
into the bustling world of my favorite app
Yet quiet comfort engulfs me
everyday
My wandering mind in discord
with my cocooned body
My app still the same
when nothing else is
I lie in wait for a new day
