POETRY
The Sommelier
Where do you uncork your poetry?
It is always darkest before the dawn
and the sommelier will tell you
wine is one of the finest pleasures in life,
so is it redundant to pull the curtains
and imbibe while writing in the dankest of cellars
or unlocking yourself outdoors with fireflies
gathered on blades of purple grass?
Where do you find yourself
writing words of poetry,
tales that speak
of guts and glory
or sonnets of love
and your Cinderella story?
Don’t you wish there was a flurry of genius
or at the very least
a genie in a bottle,
one who could inspire and feed your muse?
If only you were able to uncork words
like a fine wine
or like thunder
unleashing the rumblings of your weary soul.
grace notes: So curious am I, where do you like to scribble or type your words? Where do you write?
