My family doesn’t know me anymore
I’ve been gone a while you see
It has been so many years
And I’ve returned a stranger

I barely recognize you, they say
That hair, that beard
When did that happen?
Look how much you’ve grown!

But it’s not just growth is it
I can tell they don’t know my tendencies
They don’t see from my perspective
Now that I’m back, I see I’ve become an outsider

Thank you for reading!
