Chris Brown aka Breezy aka Bhris Brown might just be a country boy from Tappahannock but ever since his debut in 2005, there hasn’t been anyone in the game as enigmatic, polarizing, or plain flat out talented. Regardless of his beefs or beliefs, he tends to always bring the fire. It’s no secret, Chris has always been a gifted performer…I mean for Christ’s sakes, he freakin’ landed a front flip on beat to the Hood National Anthem!

Inspired by the recent launch of his current North American tour, the PARTY TOUR, I wanted to revisit Breezy’s work and list my fave videos for you. This wasn’t an easy task. It’s easy to forget the he’s got multiple bangers, so I tried my best to really capture the genius that is Christopher Maurice Brown. Enjoy!

5. Wall to WallExclusive

Starting off the list was Breezy’s lead single off his second album, Exclusive. In the video, a sexy vampire bites Chris causing him to turn into one. Then he enters a remote building and proceeds to have a dance battle (with other vampires, I presume). He then magically levitates towards the moon somehow and all of a sudden, he’s back to being human again. This video kinda makes no sense but we don’t care because it’s so entertaining. Needless to say, this song bumped in the party and had us all krumping/pop-locking our asses off.

Fun fact: This video was filmed at the same building which acted as the Command Center/Power Chamber for the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers! #TheMoreYouKnow

4. Run ItChris Brown

Is your man, on the floor? If he ain’t, let me know

— Confucius

The was the first time the world was officially introduced to a 15 year old baby faced kid from Virginia. Featuring verses from arguably the hottest rapper from the year two thousand and five of our Lord, Juelz Santana, over a Scott Storch beat (remember him?), this song was the hit of every high school homecoming dance the following year. I wanted nothing but to relive this video so badly.

Picture this: burst into the school gym. Fresh jersey. Custom Nike Air Force 1’s. All my boys behind me. We hit our choreographed dance moves then proceed to walk off with the baddest girl in school…AND SCENE!

3. Yo (Excuse Me Miss)Chris Brown

I danced in the mirror and sung this to the imaginary girl in my head anytime this video came on 106 & Park every day after school. Featuring a young Eric Mena as the leading lady and DeRay Davis in his comedic prime, this video epitomized the tale of every young boy in his teens trying to win the attention of a young dame. Only the second official music video of his career, he started to establish a clear theme, which can be noticed across all of his music videos, where he sees a girl walking by, proceeds to chase said girl, then a initiate dance routine in a public forum, and finally ending up with the girl and just barely kissing them.

I’d be remiss to neglect the added Krump (R.I.P Krumping) sesh at the end of the video over the snippet of “Gimme Dat. Sensational!

2. AyoFan of a Fan The Album

Say you what you will about Chris and Tyga as rappers but this album was pretty good IMO and this video was dope AF. Definitely a call back to the Bad Boy shiny suit era, these visuals are the epitome of two young rich minorities stunting in ways I can only dream of doing one day. Play on players.

  1. Loyal ft. Lil Wayne, TygaX

The hook. The dancing. The cultural phenomenon. There’s a reason this is Chris’ most popular video clocking over 653M views on the ‘Tube. Also, anyone that can dance in Timbs deserves all the awards TBH. This was legit the anthem for any single guy who attributed his relationship status to probably getting curved by his cinnamon apple.

Honorable Mention: Michael Jackson Tribute — 2010 BET Awards

There is no other MJ tribute that can top this one. Chris Brown was regarded as the possible next Michael Jackson and IMO, no one can imitate MJ’s moves better than Breezy. In one of his first recorded TV appearances since the “incident”, it seemed as if the public still had conflicted feelings towards him and knowing that, Chris left it all on stage, bearing his heart, while at the same time, honoring his idol. If you don’t get chills watching this video, we can’t be friends.
