Social Media Weekly #5
What happened for Android developers these past few days
May 15 – 21
Greetings fellow Android Devs 🖖
Here we go together for another week overview! Unless you live under a rock, last week was Google I/O. We expected a lot, and a lot we had!
Many new things dropped to make our job easier, and there were even a few surprises! Like OMG OFFICIAL KOTLIN SUPPORT
But that’s not it! There were a few other gems deserving our attention too. We might see much better Android apps in the next few months!
Let’s see what it gives.
In a nutshell
- 🎉 Kotlin is now an official language for Android development!
- 🏗 New stuff around to help you build better architectures
- 📚 Finally a website dedicated to ConstraintLayout (cheers Mark Allison)
- ⚡ Android Instant Apps are now open to all developers!
- 🔌 Our reverse tethering tool just hit 1.1.1 (with better Windows support)
