Hello ICON! We’re happy to be able to officially announce our formation of Geometry Labs — a cryptocurrency and decentralized finance research and development lab.

The Geometry Labs team is made up of team members who have been working with ICON for almost two years, formerly as team members at Insight. With the formation of the new company, Geometry Labs, we are now able to contribute in a greater and more focused capacity. The core team of all ICON contributors formerly at Insight is now part of the Geometry Labs team with several new additions to fill out our full stack and smart contract development capabilities.

While it’s a little early to reveal our core product offerings, we did want to highlight some of the recent work supported by a grant from the ICON Foundation. The event-based architecture project is now available in an open beta as of today.

tl;dr: It’s a new way of accessing data from the blockchain that aims to speed up response times and offer additional functionality compared to querying an ICON node directly. Currently, ICON supports a JSON-RPC API to query the blockchain. Our tool adds 3 other APIs: websockets, REST, and GraphQL with the ability to both stream live data and query historical.

To find out more, you can also checkout our recent Medium post which goes into more detail. Developers will want to go to the main github repo and check out our organization for all the ICON-related work we plan on supporting in the future.

We are looking forward to a bright future working together with this amazing ecosystem and its community. Feel free to get in touch and let us know if you would like to know more about using our API stack or management of P-Rep node operations.

Best,

Geometry Labs
