Summary and Location
Munich’s cityscape is characterised by centuries-old buildings and numerous museums. The Bavarian capital is known for the annual Oktoberfest and its beer halls, including the Hofbräuhaus, which opened in 1589.
In the old town at the central Marienplatz are landmarks such as the neo-Gothic New Town Hall, whose popular glockenspiel plays melodies and stories from the 16th century.
Due to it’s geographical location Munich is close to the Czech Repuplik, Austria, Switzerland and ofcourse Italy. Near by are beautiful lakes, the Allgäu with green meadows and the Alps with hiking trails and ski areas.
