The city is turning yellow from the banners and posters for Startup Woche

Next week is going to be crazy in Startup Metropole Düsseldorf. The good kind of crazy. Over 40 startup events will take place in the first Düsseldorf Startup Woche, a week long festival. From breakfasts and lunches, via everything-a-startup-needs-to-know workshops, to conferences and parties, and of course a whole weekend to build a business in the Startup Sprint.

As I said, it’s going to be crazy. Just check out the calendar on the Startup Woche website, and you’ll see what I mean. To give you some guidance on where to go, here are the events organised by StartupDorf, our members and our supporting members.

Monday it will all kick off with breakfast at Vodafone, co-hosted by Bitcom. It’s also the first day of the DUS Highflyer Award finals week, during which 6 startups will be roaming Düsseldorf airport to validate their ideas with potential customers. You can also go to Deutsche Bank at the Königsallee. They host a Startup Fair, starting on Monday.
Later you could get startup advice from 1a Startup, but you could also learn all you need to know about contracts with investors from EY, another supporting member.
In the evening you can go the the Media Harbor to see startups pitch in the Rheinland Pitch.

Tuesday, the fun continues. Of course at the airport for the DUS Highflyer Award, or visit the festival at Deutsche Bank. Lunch is served at the Design Offices and in the afternoon, the local startup ecosystem will meet at Stadtsparkasse for the Düsseldorfer Gründungstag. In the evening, StartupDorf organises the food becomes lifestyle food startups event in Gewächshaus Düsseldorf.

Wednesday is the day for Corporate Innovation and Corporate Venture Capital, with a conference at the WHU campus. This is a high-calibre event, with exclusive guests, but it’s completely sold out. You will have to follow the right social media accounts to get an inside view if you don’t have a ticket. No fear, there’s another super exciting event in the evening, with exciting and also high calibre speakers, and a party in the Factory Campus. The venue alone, the future home of what is now known as GarageBilk, is worth getting a ticket, which are still available.

Thursday starts with breakfast at Gewächshaus Düsseldorf, and continues with several workshops where startups can get advice. 1a Startup, Thönessen Partner and redplane all host workshops today. I’m also curious about the opening of the Manchot Graduate School at the Heinrich Heine University.

On Friday morning, you can start with a workshop from redplane, and then head over to the Tanzhaus for the weekend-long Startup Sprint!

Startup Sprint continues on Saturday.

The week-long startup festival ends on Sunday, with the pitches at Startup Sprint, and the After Week party.

This is just a selection of the events, connected to the StartupDorf network. But there’s much, much more. Check out the complete schedule at the Startup Woche website!

Which events will you attend? Let me know!
