DENVER — Today, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services announced that since the start of the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) special enrollment period on February 15, over 940,000 Americans have enrolled for health care coverage via HealthCare.gov — nearly half of whom signed up for ACA coverage in the month of April alone.

Get America Covered is thrilled to see these numbers continue to skyrocket after a record-setting number of enrollments during the first two weeks of the enrollment period. Thanks to the American Rescue plan, enrollment numbers are projected to increase even further as more people are able to access subsidized health care coverage through the marketplace.

“Americans have long been in need of an affordable, high-quality health insurance option, and the subsidies in the American Rescue Plan made the Affordable Care Act more available to families today. The incredible enrollment numbers we’re seeing are a testament to the Biden administration, Healthcare.gov and Affordable Care Act supporters working together to take American health coverage from aspirational to attainable. Go to Healthcare.gov and get covered today. The Affordable Care Act saved my life, and it could save yours too,” said Laura Packard, executive director of Get America Covered.

Get America Covered, a non-profit organization founded in 2017 by Obama administration veterans who ran outreach and public education for HealthCare.gov, is dedicated to helping Americans enroll and stay enrolled in health care coverage.

Laura Packard is the executive director of Get America Covered, founder of Health Care Voices, and a stage IV cancer survivor. The Affordable Care Act saved her life.
