If you have made it through the Mental Training Pillar videos you are on your way to building real mental strength. In order to evolve your understanding, you need to rep this training out. Awareness activates your ability, but repetition is what leads to retention. So to wrap up the Learn It videos, you can find the quick summary of the rules and pillars below:

Rules of Mental Training:

  1. Open Mind.
  2. Comfortable Being Uncomfortable.
  3. Act your way into the feeling.

Pillar 1: Winning Wisdom — Who are you?

  1. You are a human being choosing to perform. Therefore…
  2. You are free to fail, free to make mistakes. Because…
  3. Victory goes to the vulnerable.

Pillar 2: Laser Focus — Where are you?

  1. Lock into the present moment.
  2. Focus on what you can control.
  3. Refocus fast when your mind wanders away from the task at hand in the present moment.

Pillar 3: Supreme Confidence — How are you acting?

  1. Confidence is an action.
  2. Stable confidence is taking the right action regardless of how you feel.
  3. Supreme confidence comes when you rep out actions enough that your feelings begin to align with the facts.

Pillar 4: Competitive Drive — Who is stopping you?

  1. Competition, challenges, and obstacles are a marker for your growth and development.
  2. You are not competing against others, you are competing against yourself.
  3. The highest level of competition is collaboration. Seeking out challenges because you know they will push you to grow.

Learning the rules of mental training and the 4 Pillars is only the first step to developing mental strength. Now that you are aware, you have to start taking action. You have to start applying this information to your life. Start to notice when you lose sight of who you are. Be aware of when you are losing your focus on the task at hand because your mind wanders from the present moment. Start taking confident action when you notice you don’t want to. Finally, change the game by refocusing who you are competing against. The goal is to unlock your full potential — to unleash the masterpiece that is inside of you. We can’t control results and outcomes, but if we tap into our full potential we give ourselves the best chance to win.
