There is no doubting it: grassroots resistance is growing and influencing lawmakers in Washington. The failure of the American Health Care Act? A people’s victory. The ruling against the administration’s latest travel ban? Grassroots protests helped lead the fight.

We are part of the fight.

Hi, we’re #GetOrganizedBK, a group of thousands of Brooklynites working together to defend democracy and human dignity, shine a light on corruption, resist hate and injustice, and love and protect our neighbors from harm posed by the Trump Administration. We believe that there is more than one winning strategy for resistance and progress and come together to organize around everything from Climate Change to Women’s Health to Racial Injustice.

That’s what this publication is all about. What does activism look like in all of its forms–and more specifically–how can you get involved? We’re just getting started and excited to share our learnings, viewpoints, wins as well as some local narratives along the way. This is a space for us to share our stories and inspire conversation and action from activists inside and outside of the #GetOrganizedBK community.

Interested in learning how you can get more involved in the resistance? Follow us here on Medium, and while you’re at it, follow us on Twitter at @Getorgbk.

And now, we want to hear from you. What stories do you want this publication to cover? How are you getting involved in the resistance?

Enjoy!
