Turns out that spouses get a little jealous when you belong to a women’s only adventure group. haha

Once a year we invite husbands to come along and adventure with us. Moab has been the destination of choice the last two years. Jeeping and Canyoneering are the perfect mix and make for a very memorable weekend.

We started the weekend by renting jeeps from our favorite jeep rental company Twisted Jeeps. They are so great to work with and the jeeps are always fantastic. I highly recommend using them if you travel to Moab.

This year we hired a guide to take us. He took us through two trails: Fins and Things and Hells Revenge. Fins and Things is a great beginner trail. It warms you up to the thought of driving over obstacles and lets you see a little of what jeeps are capable of.

We stopped in between trails and ate a potluck lunch. It was fantastic!

After lunch we headed over to the trail Hells Revenge. It has bigger obstacles and more of a WOW factor. I won’t lie the first time I drove Hells Revenge I was nervous!

After a full day spent on the trail we went out to eat at the Blue Pig for dinner that night. It was delicious BBQ and so fun to eat and get to know each other a little better.

Saturday morning we woke up early and met our guide Nate with Moab Canyon Tours. He took us to the trail head of the canyon Morning Glory where we started our next adventure. The canyon was a moderate difficulty hike with a few amazing rappels mixed in. The most amazing rappel was right next to an enormous landscape arch. We were able to walk out onto the arch which was thrilling as well.

After the hike out and our return to town we had several hours before we were meeting back at the Airbnb for dinner. We broke off into 2 groups and we each did something different with our free time. One group walked main street and found amazing ice cream and shopping. The other group went rock climbing.

After our separate adventures we met back up at the Airbnb and ate Mexican food we cooked on the grill. We sat around the table and stayed there for hours talking and laughing. It was truly an epic day that I will never forget.

One of my favorite parts of every GOTG retreat is the connections made. The ten of us became good friends and stayed up late each night talking. I laughed until I cried with some of the hilarious stories that were told and I loved the additional insight on this trip where I got to see spouses interact.

Thanks for another fabulous trip Moab. Until next year….
