Bringing Proof of Attendance to NFT Paris
GET Protocol and POAP teamed up to offer a seamless POAP mint process tied to the ticketing flow at one of the year’s most popular events.
Ticketing done right
On-chain tickets for the event were issued through GUTS Tickets, an integrator of GET Protocol’s tooling suite. Since 2016, the protocol has been used to issue millions of tickets for mainstream events, all of which can be seen on-chain. Over the years, various issues plaguing the event space have been tackled using the bespoke solutions developed by the protocol; from scalping to the funding of events for independent artists.
An integral part of an experience is of course the memory it creates; some events carry immense bragging rights or sentimental value that lasts a lifetime. This is the sentiment that ticketing enables, and it’s what POAP centers its digital collectibles around.
Capturing memories
For those unaware, POAP digital collectibles have become a staple in the Web3 space as a way to prove you were at an event or important occurrence, or even made personal memories with someone special and got the POAP to prove it. POAPs are often distributed as events such as weddings, concerts, music festivals, birthday parties and much more! They help create a deeper emotional connection between guests that will last a lifetime through the precious digital collectible.
Proving Attendance 3.0
A collaboration between GET Protocol and POAP has been a long time coming, as both projects have matured and grown in scope from proof of concept to global adoption, with a specific focus on enabling non-crypto folks to reap the rewards of recent innovation.
The ticketing flow in the GET Protocol white-label tooling is completely Web2 user friendly, but allows for those with crypto wallets to add them to their user profile — allowing them to instantly receive the NFT related to the event and access its Web3 utility perks at the moment of purchase.
Where the POAP integration comes in is at the exact point of entrance — the very moment the ticket is checked in at the venue, the POAP of that event is sent to the corresponding wallet. Attendance proven! Attendees now own a precious digital collectible to commemorate this moment.

In the case of NFT Paris, the General Attendance POAP was distributed to thousands of ticket buyers. That’s a hefty amount of built-in usage, all without requiring any claiming action on the attendee’s part.
