A Honeylecious Mess at Work

Here, there, everywhere!

Ugh! Have you ever opened your drawer at work to grab a pen and instead got a hand full of a sticky substance?
That’s what happened to me, and all thanks to a leaky honey jar and my forgetfulness.

Me and my coworker, May, are basically like office squirrels. We keep all sorts of stuff in our drawers, pens, paperclips, the usual. But we also have everything you might need for an office crisis, like a cozy shawl (for surprise chills!), a giant bag (for emergencies, duh!), and most importantly, snacks! (Gotta keep the hangry monster away, you know?) Chocolate is a must-have for those rough days, trust me.

The Great Honey Spill

Anyway, coming back to the honey mess. It all started with a honey jar I probably closed with all the grace of a sleepy puppy. ( Atleast I think that was me, because who else can be clumsier than me!) Big mistake. The next day, I opened the drawer and bam! Honey everywhere!
With my panicky brain, I tried to soak it up with tissues, but that was a funny fail. Those tissues were no match for the sticky honey monstery
My army of tissues seemed like they lost the battle even before entering the battlefield.

May Saves the Day (Almost!)

Just as my work emails were about to drown me, May walked in, thankfully. Seeing my panicked face, she went straight for the drawer. She was even about to taste some honey by dipping her fingers. Luckily, I stopped her before she actually did that.
Laughter is the Best Medicine
May, bless her heart, is awesome at cleaning up messes. "No worries," she said calmly. "I’m a pro at cleaning up my own messes." And with that, we grabbed some sanitizer and carefully cleaned out every single thing in the drawer.

The Lesson Learned

Oh honey, such a relief it was! By the time we finished, the drawer shined bright and we emerged like the champions.
However, looking at the empty honey jar, a pang of guilt hit me. "So much hard work of those tiny honeybees wasted!" I exclaimed. Just then, a coworker peeked in, drawn by the chit chat she was hearing for a while. Now, after hearing my concern , addressing me, May straightaway said that only I can think of something like this and she just burst out laughing, and soon we were all three giggling uncontrollably.
Maybe a little mess isn’t so bad after all, especially when it leads to a good laugh with friends. But hey, at least now we know – a properly sealed honey jar can keep a drawer happy!
