Think the color palette of October is solely black and orange? Think again. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and while most people are familiar with the disease, many do not know how to detect it in its early stages. So, to help raise awareness, we’re swapping black and orange for the official color of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) — pink!

Pink is always powerful, especially when it comes in the form of the NBCF’s ribbon motif. However, there are endless ways to bring the color elsewhere in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Our preferred method? A perfectly pink color palette! Whether pink is incorporated through accessories or a space is decked out in pink from floor to ceiling, there are many ways to add the pretty shade to interiors as a way of showing support for breast cancer awareness and prevention.

Read on to see how you can show your support by using pink décor!

1. Start small.

If you’re not ready to take the plunge and cover your walls in pink for breast cancer awareness, revamp a pair of old IKEA dining chairs by painting them your favorite shade. It’s a simple update that makes a big difference.

2. Make your entrance powerful.

Paint your front door so that pink is the first thing seen when people enter your space. A door is fairly easy to repaint if you tire of the pink (but you probably won’t) and it makes a powerful statement. Consider posting a small sign on the door explaining that you’re raising breast cancer awareness through the power of pink!

3. Paint it pink.

Maybe you’re ready to fully embrace pink in your space — go for it by coating your walls and even ceilings with your favorite hue. A pastel pink is a good choice to start with because it’s neutral enough to blend in with the rest of your décor.

4. Bathe your bathroom in pink.

A pink clawfoot tub is the epitome of bathroom-chic. If you have the means to do so, dare to change your bathtub color to an electrifying shade. If not, the simple inclusion of pink towels, a bath mat, and/or shower curtain will give your bathroom plenty of pink power.

5. Tell a ‘pink story’ with your space.

Include soft pink elements in matching tones throughout your space for a calming look. It’s amazing how much of a statement a few pink accessories can make in a room. This space is filled with plenty of other neutral tones but the eye is immediately drawn to the pink accents.

6. Go for the bold and bright.

A space filled with grays, blacks, and whites looks incredible with the addition of hot pink décor. A bright pink couch may seem like an extreme design decision, but in a space like the one above, it looks chic and purposeful. The throw pillow and abstract painting tie the whole room together.

7. Curtain your windows with pink.

A pair of soft pink drapes in a blush tone are a perfect complement to a large, bright window and are easy to swap out later if you want a change. Seen from both the inside and outside of your space, pink drapery is an excellent way to show your support for breast cancer awareness.

8. Cook up some pink in the kitchen.

Salmon isn’t the only pink thing you can cook in the kitchen! Pale pink cabinetry is neutral enough to blend with your appliances, but it also adds a lot of flavor to a basic space. Our favorite element in this kitchen is the pink-legged stool, which is an easy item to add if you’re not ready to commit to pink cabinets.

9. Think in eclectic pink patterns.

This space would seem bare without a pink chevron rug and an assortment of pink patterned pillows. The accessories you add to your space don’t have to be solid, loud pops of pink — incorporate the color in a less radical way by using pieces that have pink tones within them.

10. Artfully incorporate your pinks.

For a minimal splash of this rosy tone, create a gallery wall using only art that has pink within each composition. Every piece in this gallery wall uses just a small amount and when arranged together, the pink details really stand out.
