Pantone is the authority on color trends, especially when it comes to design. Year after year, we gloss our walls in Pantone’s top shades and adorn our bodies in clothing designed with their popular seasonal colors in mind. Their 2015 Fall Fashion Color Report includes an expansive collection of earthy neutrals and bold hues that make for a natural yet fun and fantastical mix.

Our personal favorites? The gentle pink of Cashmere Rose and the vibrant and enigmatic Amethyst Orchid. These feminine tones are both powerful and understated — the perfect statement for interiors. Mixed with metal accents like copper, calming gray textures, and structured, modern décor, these gorgeous shades blur the lines between functionality and prettiness.

Read on to inspire your space with two of Pantone’s loveliest hues!

A Passion for Purple

Some may think there’s such thing as a purple overload, but when it comes to the serene shade of Amethyst Orchid, we can’t get enough (and clearly whoever designed this sitting room couldn’t either!).

This modern glam living room is mostly monochromatic, but an amethyst-toned rug adds just the right amount of texture and variance to the space.

Subtle pops of Amethyst Orchid and other shades of purple occur throughout this transitional living room. Sofa cushions, armchairs, and fresh flowers are all simple and delicate ways to incorporate Amethyst Orchid into a room.

When paired with gold accents and hardware, an orchid-toned sofa looks glamorous and sophisticated rather than overly vibrant or girly. Coupling gold and Amethyst Orchid décor creates a festive environment that helps to welcome the new season into your home.

Purple tones are pretty magical because they have a tendency to reflect upon all of their surroundings, especially in a space with fair colored walls and a lot of natural light. The amethyst colored elements in this space give off an earthly glow that makes the entire room appear slightly purple tinted.

Powerful Pink

This contemporary space proves what a tiny bit of pink can do to a room. If you imagine the room without the rose-tinted painting, it feels flat and mundane — the pink painting adds dimension and a little playfulness to the space.

Copper accents and blushing pink are a design match made in heaven. For a room with a lot of pink, bold copper pendant lights like the ones pictured above add an industrial edge.

It’s a Cashmere Rose wonderland! This space is filled with the charming blush tone and illustrates how other vibrant colors like teal, green, and red can interact brilliantly with pink.

Sometimes the simplest accessories can make a world of difference. The eye is immediately drawn to the rosy towels, which add a soft femininity to the space.

We love the variety of pink tones in this Scandinavian style living room. From Cashmere Rose to deep burgundy, the marriage between light and dark, and neutral and vibrant tones give the room an organic, textured allure.

A modern, Cashmere Rose sofa is an instant statement-maker. A pink sofa may seem a little extreme to some, but when paired with other structured, modern pieces and neutral hues, it looks completely natural.

Don’t cower in the face of color. From bold accents to minimal accessories, there are endless ways to add Cashmere Rose and Amethyst Orchid to your space without feeling like you live in a flower. So toss in a throw pillow and embrace Pantone’s loveliest hues!
