… if you have been diligent the whole year

Sweets, savories, decors. Family and friends getting together. Lamps, crackers and Lakshmi puja. These are a few of our favourite Diwali things. Lakshmi is chanchal they say. Volatile and moody — we don’t know whom she will favour or when she might get upset. But what if we give you the secret of keeping her with you all the time? What if the answer to this lies with you?

The not-so-secret secret is everyday discipline. Diligence. In how you deal with money. Grand gestures and big festivals are fun but what can help celebrate them is a little effort consistently.

Grand gestures and big festivals are fun but what can help celebrate them is a little effort consistently.

Pay yourself first, say all investment gurus. Which is how you have to look at saving your money before spending. If you rewire yourself to deal with money in a disciplined way, it will turn into a habit. This means — just like brushing your teeth — you will know the smart way to deal with money instinctively.

We all want Lakshmi and all the prosperity, wealth and wisdom she represents. Lakshmi comes home during Diwali, if you have been diligent the whole year. And that way she is a permanent member who stays with you everyday. Even as we chose to celebrate her in a big way on Diwali!
