Change Partners with Omaze
Introducing: the #Changemakers. These are forward-thinking companies and nonprofits that do amazing work around the globe. In our first installment of the #Changemakers series, we’ll highlight Omaze, a fundraising platform for a new generation of donors.
We all yearn to make the world a better place — but it’s not always easy to know where to start or how to make sure your money is being put to good use. Omaze has tapped into the next generation of charitable donors by offering innovative experiences that benefit a good cause, so donors can feel confident that they are, indeed, making a difference. Change is proud to be a partner in this mission to raise funds that can truly change the world.
In an effort to find new, innovative ways to raise money for good causes, Omaze runs charitable online sweepstakes, offering the chance to win life changing prizes. Omaze’s extensive donor community supports various nonprofits including the Boys & Girls Club of America, the National Wildlife Federation, and Make-a-Wish. Omaze offers its donors a win-win; a chance to win awesome prizes — a private performance from Jimmy Buffet or customized mini-home — as well as the chance to give back. Omaze has raised more than $150M for charity to date.
Change partnered with Omaze to centralize donation information and track grants made out to the supported charities. Omaze leveraged the Change platform to easily see various data points like donation totals and monthly grant amounts, creating operational efficiencies across the board and freeing up time for Omaze to focus on what they do best: launching creative giving opportunities that make a far-reaching impact.
Managing the regulatory burden and state-by-state filings has historically been a hurdle for many companies hoping to give back, especially when there is a high volume of donations coming in from multiple jurisdictions. Change works closely with Our Change Foundation, a US-registered 501(c)(3) public charity that specializes in grant-making. Omaze fundraises for Our Change Foundation, who then grants the donations, minus experience fees and costs, to the designated nonprofits. Tracking the donations and grants is done in the Change dashboard, where companies can see their top supported nonprofits, the dollars granted over a period of time, and more. Knowing where consumers are choosing to target their giving helps influence future giving campaigns.
Through Omaze’s fundraising efforts, people from more than 180 countries have made donations that support over 400 charities, driving substantial levels of awareness for their work. Learn more about the great work Omaze is doing here.
