Delta Investment Tracker — Development Update #4

Nicolas Van Hoorde
Sep 17 · 4 min read

Delta is expanding. Relaunching you might say. And to keep you informed about the changes, we’re introducing a weekly development update to keep those interested into the loop about what’s new about the app and how the beta is going along. Here’s the third one. If you missed the first one, you can read it here. The second one can be found here. Number 3 is here.

Closed Beta Invitations

We decided to not expand our beta this week, as we want to fix some major bugs before we do so. The plan is to get to this place in exactly one week from now. To compensate, we’ll add a bigger batch, our beta with 750 extra seats. Numbers #251 to #1000 from the waitlist will receive their invite hopefully by end of next week.

Beta Changelog

The following issues have been fixed in the build that will land tomorrow (at time of writing) to existing beta users:

  • Global search > Clear inputted text ‘X’ not working on Android
  • Jumpy ‘skeleton’ loading screens
  • Same style of search bar everywhere in the app
  • Global Search input field shouldn’t show the ‘X’ to clear when there’s nothing to clear yet
  • iOS 14(?) : Changing theme causes the design to jump down, and show some other design in the “back”
  • Global Search rows shouldn’t have a bottom line when it’s the last item in the list
  • Delta app crashes when hiding amount in side drawer
  • “Shake to hide” does not work
  • Stocks transactions crash the old app on ‘Full Transaction History’
  • When changing local fiat currency from USD to EUR, my entire Bitcoin holdings disappeared
  • ADS Market Status icon is broken
  • Parse notes for ‘due to sell of’ and stuff (Transaction)
  • Tapping on tabs in Markets (Overview, Crypto or Stocks) or tabs in ADS shows large grey circle
  • Make ‘minimised view’ (ie no charts) the default option
  • Mini graphs don’t refresh if you pull down on markets overviews
  • Update the settings icon on notifications tab to the new one
  • Changing preferred currency does not impact P/L values
  • Sorting list does not close when you select what to sort by (have to tap close)
  • Show short code in big/first, full name in short/second
  • When I hide values (by clicking the eye in the main screen) the value on top is hidden but if I scroll down it’s visible on the top left
  • Back hardware button / gesture should go from individual stock or crypto portfolio to portfolio overview if there is one
  • Add a dotted line on 1D that marks the previous close (similar on how we show high & low)
  • Solid grey line in price chart should indicate previous close
  • For non-crypto, prices in the Market Data section should also be in the native currency of the asset
  • My NEO Owned shows -0.0000000 NEO & Market Value is — $0.00000000 → should both just be 0
  • Prices for stocks should never exceed 2 numbers after the decimal
  • Deleting an alert is missing a toast message informing the user of the action
  • When opening ETHBULL or ETHBEAR I get an ‘Oops something broke screen’
  • Deleting an alert does not remove the item from the list initially — only by tabbing away and then returning to alerts was it finally removed from the list
  • Time in copy “Price at close xx:xx” is wrong
  • Show 8 decimals for prices for crypto in ADS if price is below 1
  • ADS does not fetch correct info when opened from Push Notification
  • Show prices in asset currency on following
  • For stocks, in following, price change should never exceed 2 decimals
  • If I input garbage into the search filter, the ‘No result found’ is missing styling it seems. Should have a similar styling as global search result not found
  • Following an asset from Global Search should not open ADS
  • List moves when the delta values are null
  • Wrong styling on hairline dividers (they are barely visible at the moment)
  • Updating a transfer transaction does not seem to work when pressing the update button
  • In the price field, the price is showing 9 decimals (was using BTC/EUR pair), should follow the general rounding rules (so in this case, 2 decimals)

Weekly Feature Highlight

This week we’re highlighting the ‘Following’ feature, which replaces the Watchlist & Follow functionality of the current app.

Following becomes an app-wide system and will do 3 things:

You’ll see the Following star icon across the entire app, making it easy to follow or unfollow from wherever you are. On top of that, we’ll automatically follow assets that you add to your portfolio. Duh!

That’s it for the fourth Development Update of the relaunch of Delta. Stay tuned for next week’s update!
