What’s to come for Delta — Cryptocurrency Portfolio
Our two month launch window is officially over and together with our community, we’ve been able to reach much more people than we could have ever dreamt of. Not only is the app itself finding more and more users every day, engagement is sky high and our Telegram & Slack communities are flourishing thanks to the kindness and the helpfulness of our moderators and experienced users. Thanks for that!
We’ve been receiving tons of feature requests, which has been really cool to see. I don’t think we missed a single line of feedback or suggestion and we’ve been processing them very carefully.
First some great news! Almost all of the requests were actually already scheduled on our roadmap. We still need to build all of it obviously. It may take time, but we’re trying to scale as we go and we’ll make sure that our release cycle remains short & with a high standard for quality.
We did reschedule some stuff based on the last few weeks. We prioritise based on three main factors: ‘Amount of requests’, ‘Time needed to build’ and ‘Personal beliefs’. This holy trinity makes building a roadmap relatively easy and with this post we’d like to share what we have planned for the coming months. Sit tight! :)
Planned before the end of the year
While December is already underway, we still have some stuff to launch for our iOS & Android apps, including:
- Portfolio History & Evolution Graph
- iPhone X Support
- View Options — Part I
- Some small to medium sized features & tweaks that might surprise you!
The idea is to launch this in the week of December 11th, with a one to two day Beta testing period for our PRO subscribers.
After that it’s full focus on our Desktop version, for which we’d like to launch the beta for before the end of the year. The first beta version will be a very basic version of what we already have on mobile, with the same functionalities in a bigger view. With the one addition of being able to sync between devices.
Talking very specific about our further upcoming plans is hard to do, due to this space being more competitive than ever before. That being said, we’d like to keep being transparent so we’ll go a bit deeper as to what’s in store after our desktop version.
Note: we’ll add smaller & medium sized tweaks & features along the way, these just get added to a major release and often make a subset of users really happy. Think features like ‘Custom sound for an alert’ or ‘Global average’ as an option for an exchange when adding to portfolio.
Coming back all fresh after the Christmas holidays, we’ll keep working on our desktop application, as well as on our iOS & Android builds. The first priorities for 2018 are:
- Desktop & Device Syncing
- Import & Export Options
- Order Book & Extra Coin Info
Once this is all done & dusted, we’ll keep on working on all the things that have been requested by our users as well as on some special stuff we have thought out. ;) You can be rest assured that all requests have been noted down and are planned already. We’ll announce the specifics of these features once they’re actively in development and closer to release. Unsure if your idea or request is already on our list? The Delta team will reply to your requests on Telegram & Slack if it’s unclear to you if a feature has been requested before.
“..we’ll keep on working on all the things that have been requested by our users”
I hope this gives you an idea as to what to expect in the following weeks and months. We have set big goals and we plan on delivering on them. Things might take a turn, but we’ll always look to keep releasing high-quality features and we’ll be open towards everyone as to why something didn’t happen or did happen.
What about Delta PRO?
As mentioned before, Delta will remain a free app and the majority of new features will be completely free features. Portions of features that will be exclusive to PRO users will not harm or limit the free experience, nor will we push Delta PRO in an aggressive or annoying way. Delta’s goal is to create extra value for both our PRO and our free users. We do believe that more enhanced/advanced features make sense in our PRO offering, allowing us to keep our current business model vision which is all about never selling your data & not doing advertisements.
The things that have been discussed are mostly front-end related. Stuff that is immediately visible to the user. Behind the scenes, we’re also continuously working to improve the user experience. A bit less visible, but maybe even more important! I’m talking about keeping the app live by scaling our infrastructure (we’re doing this right now actually!), increasing our speed, making sure we have the most accurate data as possible, adding more exchanges and cryptocurrencies and so forth.
Regarding the exchanges, we’ll try on adding at least one new exchange and/or new direct link per working day. We’ll also try to add a status page on getdelta.io so you can see what the last time was the prices were fetched for a certain exchange as well as see our up-time and API status.
That’s it for the planned (near) future of Delta. The one question that remains is: what after all this is done? We’d like to know the answer as well. ;) For now, we’ll focus what’s been discussed and form our 2018 plans based on the reaction of our users and what’s going in cryptoland! I hope you’re with us for this crazy trip!
