Introduction
My name is Gideon Bola-Lawal. In the music world, I’m known as “Professor X” or sometimes “The Professor”. I’m a music content specialist for PXT, a brand that deals with various music-related activities ranging from playlist curation, artiste development, podcasting, songwriting and music reviews.
A brief story about how you started
This started for me personally back in 2016/17. When I was in university, I was the go-to plug for music back then. We used to share music from hard drive storages, especially for records that were not exactly popular, which we would later understand to be the majority of the indie alternative sound. Then it morphed into recommending songs for colleagues and friends for different themes.
My alma mater Babcock University also had a role to play in furthering my love for music and my involvement in underground artists. The school had several events that helped showcase rising and buzzing talent and enable them to perform on the same stage.
In June 2019, we decided to officially make a platform that pushes good music from underground acts to listeners and that’s how PXT was formed.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
Discovering new talent and feedback from the listeners is one of the many things I love about my job.
Your most significant tip to artists & music content specialists?
You have to really love what you do and have a conviction about it. Inspiration can come from anywhere and anything.
Outside being an artist & music content specialist what do you enjoy?
Hosting Parties. Travelling.
What’s your favourite Fidia feature and why?
