Haven 1.2.16 🐦 “Canary”

New push notifications for social and orders… finally! This is just one of the new features in the most recent release of Haven.

Feature and fixes overview:

Push notifications for reposts and following

• You will now receive a push notification (if enabled) every time another user reposts or follows you in Haven
• This completes push notifications for actions in the social feed

Push notifications for orders

• You will now receive a push notification (if enabled) whenever you receive an order from another Haven user OR if the order you placed/received is updated in any way
• We finally delivered on this promised feature!
• This only works between Haven users for now, and we’ll be working to offer this functionality to OpenBazaar desktop users and our awesome partners such as Zokos

Xcode 11 update

• This is a more under-the-hood feature required by Apple for our iOS users

Covid-19 banner and featured content

• For the immediate future we will display a prominent notice in the front view of the app (Update: we had to remove this for iOS due to the Apple’s App Store restrictions; Android devices are unaffected).
• Tapping on this notice will open an important callout for sellers to put up any and all items that can be used by people during the pandemic. We will also be featuring these items more prominently in content spaces, such as the carousel, as more stores and items become available.

Offline message fetching improvements

• This release contains another important optimisation to the retrieval of offline message (i.e. messages sent to you by other users while you were offline)
• In short, we are scanning for offline messages more aggressively and minimising any interruptions to these scans at startup

Improvements to transaction detection and order state processing

• We’ve made a significant change to improve the successful detection of transactions for an order and processing that order into the correct state
• It is our hope that this will unlock orders that may be unnecessarily stuck in an order state, and for others finally solve problems they’ve experienced detecting transactions for an order

Inspect that raw contract data

• You can view the entire contract data for an order
