Thanks for your patience in this update! Here’s what’s new:

Revamped link-sharing from the app

We’ve significantly overhauled sharing content in Haven. Now when you share a link to a listing or store, it will:

  1. Open the Haven app and navigate you to the listing/store directly
  2. Display rich media to preview the content

For example:

https://openbazaar.com/QmZuq9q64U8sA1ht5u9MHNUWqCLH83JLGcSuNStMUEiwve/store/kings-of-war-trident-army/

The link above will generate the preview below:

If Haven isn’t installed on your device, the link will take you to https://openbazaar.com where you tap a link to download the app from the App Store or Play store.

Fixed inventory issue when creating listings

There was a bug that caused listings to be created with an inventory of ‘1’ under certain circumstance; this has been fixed.

Tapping a name in the social feed will navigate you to their store

Tapping the name next to the avatar of an item in the social feed will navigate you to the user’s store.

Area highlighted in blue can be tapped to navigate to the user’s store.

Better fallback to loading listings if the mobile server delays in restarting

Presently there can be up to a 10–20 second delay in restarting the OpenBazaar mobile server when reopening the app from the background. During that delay, fetching a listing from the network can fail. We built in a fallback to fetch that listing from our Gateway server (essentially a public node that proxies network requests) if that happens.

While this has been improved in this update, we’ll continue to work on improving the restart time and fallback triggers in future updates.

You can now cancel orders in an error (as the buyer)

During testing we found that if some orders enter an error state, the buyer was unable to reclaim the funds they sent, even though they were eligible to do so. This has been fixed in the update, and buyers should see an option to claim funds if an error occurs.

Blocking a user will prevent chat messages being received

We still have more work to do in managing blocked nodes, but to start with you should stop receiving chat messages from a user you’ve blocked.

Next update…

The next update finally rolls-out a highly requested feature, which is a ‘send all’ button for the wallet. This feature is part of a broader redesign of the wallet to make things look and feel better than ever.

The next update should also include some significant improvements to increasing the reliability of network message and order management, as well improvements to battery life and energy consumption for iOS users. In summary, lots of under-the-hood work.

Until next time… stay free, trade free 🙏
