Are you taking the right decision yourself or are you letting others make them for you?

All of us have some goals, all of us want to achieve something in life, all of us want to do so many things in this one life that we have, but many of us find excuses and fall back, many of us depend upon someone to make those things or those decisions for us. What we need to understand is, whether we want it. If the inner voice says, “Yes, I want it” we just have to make the strategy to achieve it.

We have been programmed in this manner, from childhood, to fall back on people for help. Fall back for financial support on parents, fall back for important decisions on family, fall back for education on teachers and the list goes on and on…

Rarely do we take any of the life decisions alone.

I was obese for quite a long time. I had to face humiliation, body shaming, comments and all sorts of things that are not pleasant to the ears.

Sometimes my close friends took the decision of protecting me. They did so that I don't feel bad, but what they needed to do was to let me be. They needed me to understand that I was running away from the solution to this obesity which is leading to piling up of problems inside me.

My parents took the decision of putting me into a keto diet and then paleo diet and then intermittent fasting because none of them were working fine. All the diets just led to some other issues inside my body. They triggered some sort of imbalance which led to high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, increased thyroid, and so many other problems.

To them Doctor is God and so they would go from one gynecologist to the other for help, not realizing that though they could help with my PCOS they were not having the degree to prescribe me a good diet with proper nutrition. They can suggest curative measures to me but they might not be able to suggest preventive measures.

Slowly, I realized that, though they want to do good for me, they are not doing it the right way.

Since it was my body, I needed to take the call. I needed to take the responsibility of making things right, of taking my own decision. They cannot understand my body triggers, so how can they understand what my body wants or needs?

I took the decision of educating myself first on losing weight.

I started by reading the book “What Your Doctor Doesn’t Know About Nutritional Medicine May Be Killing You”.

This book taught me the importance of nutrition and how a proper balance could help mitigate al lot of diseases. A small lifestyle change coupled with proper nutrition can do wonders.

Slowly, I started researching a lot about how to make a healthy lifestyle change. Fortunately, I met a group of entrepreneurs who had been investing a lot of time to help people with weight loss and other lifestyle problems like cholesterol, diabetes, joint pains skin problems like acne pigmentation, etc.

They helped me a lot in my journey and are still with me. They were a beacon light on my journey and their advice helped me a lot. Proper physical exercises coupled with proper nutritional supplements like Vitamin, calcium, etc. showed a great result in my body. They helped me to understand the importance of protein to build muscles.

It was a decision I made, to take care of myself, to invest time in research, to take help from people who knows about it and to make the changes recommended for me.

I am still in the process, I am still struggling, but I have help now and that is not only encouraging but also important to make the right decision yourself.

It's not too late to make the right decision in your life too. Taking help is always necessary but giving the driver’s seat of your life to someone else will only be worse.

Whether it be your health or your life or your work, whatever be the scenario, you need to take responsibility to make the decisions of your life, yourself.

Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them yourself, or are you letting others make them for you?

Since I got help from the group of entrepreneurs for my problem, I would also be very happy if you would like to get the same for yourself.
