Me in a nutshell, right now…

Some Nor’Easter, huh?

If you don’t live on Long Island, we’re supposed to be getting a Nor’Easter at some point this evening. As I write this, it’s a little windy by me, but that’s about it. I guess time will tell if this develops into what they say it will…

Anyhoo, it’s Monday, and I’m EXHAUSTED! It was a beautiful weekend, and I took full advantage of being outdoors.

You know that my Saturday involved running for the first time in nearly six months. Yesterday, there was a pickup softball game that I attended due to the ‘warm’ weather. While I got to bed about nine hours before I had to wake up for the game, my body was not used to the movements involved.

Waking up this morning was definitely a struggle. I hit ‘Snooze’ three times (something I rarely do once, let alone thrice), my legs were extra sore, my forearm/elbow area was sore from throwing, and my core was sore from batting for the first time in nearly two months.

My energy has improved since waking up, but this morning was definitely a struggle. Today is going to be a REST day for your’s truly.

There are a lot of people who advocate being active every day. And fortunately, due to my occupation, I’m always active demonstrating exercises and spotting certain clients lifting heavier weights.

However, when I see my last client in a little bit, you know what I have a date with? No, not the gym. My bath tub, loaded with warm water and Epsom Salt.

If you’re currently dealing with prolonged muscle soreness and stiffness, Epsom Salt is great! You just sprinkle a cup or two into a tub of warm water, and you soak for 20 minutes. The magnesium in the salt helps your muscles recover a lot faster, which is obviously conducive to being able to function the next day.

To get my recommended brand of Epsom Salt, Dr. Teal’s, you can do so here: http://astore.amazon.com/fitneretri-20/detail/B00T4E3G8G

Enjoy your Monday!

Sincerely,

Coach Pete
