Criton is a UK company with offices in Edinburgh and London which creates bespoke mobile apps. They need access to hotel data in order to provide a seamless guest experience for their hotel customers. They were initially referred to Impala by Guestline, one of the Property Management Systems Impala is connected to.

We spoke to Julie Grieve, Founder and CEO of Criton, to learn in more detail why they need access to hotel data, and how they’re using Impala to connect to it.

What do Criton do?

“Criton is an award-winning technology provider enabling hotels and serviced apartment operators to digitise their guest information, bringing all guest-facing technology into a branded app for guests to use on their own phone.

“With Criton, hoteliers can give their guests access to all of the hotels guest-facing technology and the information they need, on their own phone with their own white-labelled digital concierge app.”

Why does Criton need hotel data?

“Hotels who choose Criton need data to streamline their operations, enhance the guest experience, and engage with guests pre-, during and post-stay by providing personalised information via the app.”

How does Criton use Impala?

“Criton uses Impala to empower guests to access their hotel booking within the app, and give them the ability to easily and quickly check in — even before arriving at the hotel. This helps hotels reduce queues at check-in and offer a better guest experience upon arrival.”

What other solutions did Criton use before Impala?

“Criton didn’t have a similar solution before Impala. Our integration with Impala provided us with a simple way to connect to multiple different Property Management Systems.”

Why did Criton decide to give Impala a try?

“At Criton, we liked the transparent and easy-to-use API which provided us with access to a number of different Property Management Systems.”

What was the process before Impala when Criton wanted to integrate to a PMS?

“As we developed Criton, we faced multiple requests for different PMS integrations. Without Impala, we would have to do multiple integrations. With Impala, we’ve just had to do one.”

What was your experience of connecting to a hotel with Impala?

“The request came from the hotel. We informed Impala, who then contacted the hotel directly. We were able to track the progress of this through Impala. Once completed, we were able to verify and test that all the data was pulling through correctly.”

How is Criton planning to use Impala in the future?

“We want to expand our product offering to empower guests to do more in-app, such as check out, retrieve their bill, and update their personal information.”

What advice would you give to someone who is looking to connect with Impala?

“Go for it! Impala provides a simple and straightforward way to connect with multiple Property Management Systems.”
