Hello Millennials. Welcome to the workforce.

As a millennial in the workforce, it’s difficult to ignore the constant churn of thought-pieces pertaining to millennials in the workforce. Overwhelmingly negative, with overarching blame, it is no wonder we remain unemployable and underpaid. Millennials are entitled, spoiled and narcissistic; which is worrying (if indeed true) considering that millennials will comprise of nearly 75% of the workforce by 2030.

Another worrying figure is the amount of young people who struggle to secure a job. In India, almost 12 million graduates enter the workforce every year, and nearly 20% of its educated youth are jobless. The result of this difficulty is a power shift from the recruitee to recruiter. This power shift is so seismic, that recruitment agencies generated more than USD527.1b in revenue last year. With the majority of recruitment agencies charging between 15% and 25% of the candidate’s total first year annual earnings, the fees being paid to Silicon Valley recruitment agencies for top software talent have doubled in the last two years.

Therein lies the paradox.

GetLinks was born to fill this gap. We want cause a seismic shift of a billion dollar industry, removing traditional hurdles and recruitment biases, and take this online.

Bright-eyed geeks with a big vision. GetLinks Co-Founders; CMO Pop and CEO Djoann.

As most tech startups are founded, the idea started in someone’s parents’ basement, by a handful of bright-eyed geeks with a big vision. Frustrated by the job market, and begging for a job door-to-door, they sought to put the power back into the hands of the jobseeker. As children of the digital age, they sought refuge in the safe-space of the Internet. With seed money from 500 Startups, GetLinks created a curated marketplace to connect tech talents to some of most innovative companies across Asia.

After all, no one understands millennials in the workforce better than a millennial in the workforce. Come aboard our team of geeks, create a profile, and join our thriving community.

Let’s redesign the future of work.
