Here’s a quick entry on the Equifax breach. It’s too rich with lessons to pass it up. So here goes…

Your identity, in data form, is Equifax’s product. They charge you and others a fees to access your private data. It’s a big business.

Loci believes you should own and control your personal data. Imagine if we all stored our data the same way, we could share that and trust each other in ways we never have before. If we then could act on our new peer trust aided by a shared autonomous transaction agent, we could transact with any network peer like never before, instantly, and with nearly no cost.

If we do those two things together, we create a compelling opportunity to re-think fundamental commerce to better serve the people who conduct it. Wow! That’s a big payoff.

The time for users to own and control their personal data is near. The Equifax breach may just help that time arrive sooner. The time for peer trusted commerce is near too. Loci teams are working to delivery it soon.
