We couldn’t be more excited to announce that we’ve raised €611k ($650k) in seed round funding from some of the most successful entrepreneurs and investors in Austria, including Hansi Hansmann (Best European Early Stage Investor 2015), the founders of Runtastic ($240m exit in 2015), Bernhard Niesner (co-founder and CEO of Busuu), PUSH Ventures, and Techstars.
We’ve all gone to school and know how ineffective the chalk-and-talk approach is. We’ve all enrolled in online courses and know why almost nobody ever finishes them. And we’ve all been hooked by mobile apps that provide instant gratification but little educational value.
That’s why we’re taking topics that previously filled books and classes and break them down into bite-size lessons that work for the mobile generation.
Mimo’s lessons are fun and interactive, fit into people’s everyday lives, and lead them to make a habit of self-improvement. Getting through to more than 1.9 million people and achieving completion numbers of up to 70%, which is far above the industry average, Mimo is well on its way to becoming the one-stop shop for education and entertainment on the go.
The funds will enable us to grow our team, expand our library of courses as we grow, and get ready to conquer the world, ensuring that we can deliver the best mobile learning experience imaginable.
