Everyone knows what Telegram bots are. We use them every day, from uptime monitoring to speech synthesis. How about accessing a desktop?

The answer was quick, and we developed a special bot which:

  • Connects you to your desktop
  • Creates invites for connecting to someone else’s desktop
  • Downloads files from your remote desktop

Connect to Your Desktop

You’ll need to set up continuous access to your desktop. Then, you’ll be able to connect our bot:

  • Sign up on Getscreen.me
  • Download our agent, launch it, and log into your account (you may skip this part and test our demo desktop)
  • Connect to Telegram in the “Integrations” section of your personal account

That’s it. Now, you may go back to Telegram. Our new @GetscreenMeBot is already there

Type /list to get your list of desktops with continuous access. In this case, it’s access to our demo desktop.

If you press “Connect”, you’ll receive a one-time invite link you can use. Yes, we know: two clicks may not be very convenient. But it’s for your safety. The browser page will open, showing your desktop and control features.

Download Files from a Remote Desktop

You’ll see a Download File button (not available for our demo desktop). After you press that button, you’ll have to choose your file you want to download. You’ll see a tree view of your desktop’s file system.

Then, our bot will send your file attached to a message.

The only limit is that the file size shouldn’t exceed 50 MB. Sorry, this is Telegram’s limit. We already know how to increase the file size and will implement that solution if there’s a demand for larger files.
