About 135 million people commute to work daily. Of these, over 75% drive to work alone. As a consequence, Americans spend close to 7 billion hours stuck in traffic, resulting in over $150 billion in wasted productivity.

Carpooling is an obvious way to eliminate traffic. In fact, studies have shown that a 5% reduction in traffic will make our freeways 50% more efficient. Yet, it is not popular. And, we get why — it is a hassle to find, schedule, coordinate, and transact with people to share a commute. This is exactly why we created SEET. The product is an on-demand carpooling platform aimed at transforming the way people commute. SEET enables like-minded people, living/working near each other and traveling along the same route, to carpool together instead of passing by on the freeway while commuting to work.

Unlike traditional carpooling, SEET has several advantages — flexibility, the ability to commute with different people, and there is no daily participation requirement. SEET creates an equitable, win-win arrangement for everyone involved. Riders pitch in to get affordable and comfortable door-to-door rides with people they like and trust. Drivers can monetize their existing commute and cover gas, vehicle wear and tear, and parking costs by simply giving a ride to someone going their way. Above all, in order to promote safety on the platform, we vet and verify all users.

SEET creates positive societal impact. When people carpool, they are afforded the opportunity to grow their personal and professional networks, and experience that elusive sense of social connection that they tend to yearn. SEET also creates positive environmental impact; because we are enabling people to make the most of a commute that’s happening anyway, unlike other ride-sharing services, SEET is actually helping take cars off the road.

SEET is for everyone, including cities and enterprises. Employees will arrive to work alert, productive, and save time and money. Employers will benefit from freed up parking spaces, an elevated corporate culture, payroll tax savings, and an increased ability to acquire and retain talent. Cities that promote the usage of SEET among their residents will benefit from reduction in traffic, improved air quality, and decreased burden on existing infrastructure.
